Anyone have a good cold tuna appetizer recipe?

I am looking for a cold tuna appetizer. I have only 1 hour of time to prepare it.Anyone have a good cold tuna appetizer recipe?
tuna, mayo, rice, finely chopped onions (if you have scallions is better), finely chopped tomatoes (if you have cherry tomatoes just cut them in half and use it to decorate the appetizer).

Cook the rice. Mix it with all the other ingredients. Cover a pan with a non stick paper (aluminum or the transparent one) and put what you've just mixed there. Pop it in the fridge and when it's cold cut it in squares

Another option is to fill tomatoes with a mixture of rice, tuna and mayo. Believe me, those stuffed tomatoes are really good.Anyone have a good cold tuna appetizer recipe?

It is fresh seared tuna, very chic.

Tuna Balls - Polpette di tonno

This is really a really easy to make appetizer that can work as a main course too.

Serves: 4-8 Preparation time: 25 minutes

1-3/4 cup tuna fish packed in olive oil

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 egg

3/4 cup fresh ground parmesan

1/4 tsp. thyme

1 cup ground dry bread crumbs

salt to taste

oil to fry

In a large bowl mix the ricotta, egg, parmesan and thyme.

In a food processor blend the tuna until smooth. Drain the excess oil before blending.

Mix the tuna into the ricotta mix with a pinch of salt. Prepare a plate with the dry bread crumbs. Gently roll the tuna into one inch balls and then roll them in the bread crumbs.

Prepare a nonstick frying pan with olive oil. Fry them on both sides taking care when you turn them as they are very delicate. Place them a plate covered with paper towels to absorb the excess oil and let them cool a few minutes. .

This recipe will make around 30 to 40 balls depending on how big you make them. Take care when frying them as they will tend to fall apart otherwise. They make a delicate appetizer or you can serve them with salad as a main course.

Does anyone have an awesome Tuna casserole recipe?

I want something creamy yet tasty. I am so tired of bland casserole!Does anyone have an awesome Tuna casserole recipe?
My mom taught me how to make this really easy no-bake chicken casserole that works just as well with tuna.

    Ingredients

-any kind of pasta (i usually use bowtie 'cause it's my favorite, but any kind you have in the cabinet will work)

-1 can of cream of mushroom soup

-1 large can of tuna or chicken breast, drained (you can find it in the tuna section, I try and always get all white meat chicken breast)

-about a cup or so (more or less, depending on how much you want) of mixed frozen veggies- carrots, peas, corn, etc.

    -shredded cheddar cheese

Start by cooking your pasta. Cook it so it's al dente, with a little bite to it (it'll cook more later when you put everything together).

While your pasta is cooking, you can warm your mixed veggies in a bowl in the microwave, with just enough water to cover them. Just cook them enough so that they're warmed all the way.

Once your veggies and pasta are cooked, drain them and put them into your casserole dish. Next, put the soup and drained tuna or chicken in the dish with the veggies and pasta. Mix it all together. If the mixture is thick you can add a little milk to thin it a little.

After all your ingredients are mixed well, spread it evenly in the dish and sprinkle the grated cheese on the top. Use however much or little you want.

Next, cover your casserole dish with plastic wrap and seal it and stick it into the microwave for about 4 minutes. Warm it long enough to melt all of the cheese. If it requires longer heating, warm it in 2 minute intervals.

Caution: exercise caution when opening the plastic wrap, because very hot steam will come out when you open it.

One thing I sometimes add to the casserole is Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. I just sprinkle a little all over the casserole before putting on the cheese.

This casserole gets better the longer you let it sit. My boyfriend often says he likes it even better the next day.

This freezes very well. Just wait until the casserole is completely cooled and cut it up into meal sized sections and pop them into freezer bags or plastic containers. When you reheat them they will taste just as good as fresh.Does anyone have an awesome Tuna casserole recipe?
    Fabulous Tuna Noodle Casserole

2 (10 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup, condensed

    8 ounces egg noodles, cooked

1 (7 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained

    1 cup frozen peas

    10 ounces milk

    5 ounces dry sherry

    1 tablespoon butter

    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

    1/4 teaspoon sweet Hungarian paprika

    1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

    can french fried onions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Saute onion and celery in butter over medium-low heat; cook until tender; add sherry, allow alcohol to burn off; set aside.

Combine cooked drained noodles, condensed soup, and milk. Add cooked vegetables to noodles. Mixture should be juicy. Add more liquid (milk) if too dry. Mix in mushrooms, peas, tuna, garlic, paprika, and parmesan cheese. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Spread mixture into a 1 1/2-2qt. casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees F. 11for 30 minutes, or until bubbly around the edges.

Sprinkle enough fried onions over the top to cover it evenly (usually a small can or so, to taste); bake for 3-5 minutes more, or until onions brown nicely. Remove from oven and let rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
I use elbow macaroni and cook til al dente. Mix 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup with 2 cans of milk in a bowl with salt and pepper to taste. When I am cooking the noodles I add frozen peas or broccoli to the water during the last 2 minutes of cooking time. I drain the noodles with the veggies, mix with albacore tuna, 2 cans, and then add 1 small chopped onion along with the soup and milk. season the top with pepper and top with crushed lay's potato chips. Bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes until bubbly.

Anyone have a tuna steak recipe so that I can cook and freeze it?

I have enough tuna to feed eight people, but I'm not having people over.

Anyone have a recipe that uses tuna steak, and that can be refrigerated or frozen without the tuna become hard, tough, and flavorless?

Thanks.Anyone have a tuna steak recipe so that I can cook and freeze it?
i don't recommend cooking it before you freeze it. why not freeze it first then defrost it when you need it? that' what i do, i buy packs of four and freeze what i dont use and defrost as necessary. as for a recipe, if you cook it in lemonjuice and a dash of mild chilli powder on each side the flavours are massive. just serve on some chunky sweet potato chips or oven wedges and salad with homemade vinegarette!!

    hope this helps

pbxAnyone have a tuna steak recipe so that I can cook and freeze it?
You're better off freezing the steaks raw than cooking and freezing them. They'll get even more tough and have less flavor after they're cooked and frozen.

Anybody love tuna fish? I love it any good idea's or recipes for tuna i can use. ?

I make this up a lot, good low cost source of omega 3 Sometimes for sandwiches or with steamed baby carrots on the side.

    Tuna Cakes

1 can tuna, drained (the one packed in water)

    1/4 tsp Dijon mustard

1/4 cup bread crumbs (I use leftover whole wheat bread and grind it up in the food processor)

    Dash of garlic powder

1 egg (or 1/4 cup egg substitute)

    onion (optional)

    1/2 tsp dill relish (optional)

Mix together in one bowl and then using pie plate with crumbs in it (2 inches thick or more); make 4 to 6 patties, (or one big one if you want a big tuna burger sandwich), cover each one with the crumbs.

    Place in preheated, oiled pan.

Brown on one side and then gently flip it, to brown on other side.

    Suggestion:

Can add sliced cheese (sharp cheddar is good) at the end to melt on top and serve on toast for a nice Tuna Patty Melt.

----Anybody love tuna fish? I love it any good idea's or recipes for tuna i can use. ?
1 cup of uncooked macaroni noodles (boil in salted water until al dente)

1 can of tuna in olive oil (or use tuna in water and add your own olive oil), at least 6 or 7 oz of tuna

1 can of cream of mushroom soup (Campbell's preferably, if using low sodium, add some sea salt or regular salt to the tuna mixture...not too much)

A few drops of soy sauce (low sodium or regular)

1 small sauteed yellow onion and one small red pepper (preferably sweet) also sauteed in a bit of butter

Black pepper, to taste (may also use some garlic powder or paprika if you'd like)

Mix cooked noodles and other ingredients and pour into a greased glass casserole dish. Bake at 350 for about a half hour, uncovered. Add cheddar cheese to the top, shredded or chunks, and let bake another ten minutes. Add some french fried onion rings on top of it all after cheese has melted and finish baking for five or ten minutes, until top layer of cheese and onion rings has browned. Some people mix the cheese in the tuna noodle mixture or put it on top right away and let it get really brown. Some also use bread crumbs or potato chips instead. Any variation of veggies (broccoli is especially good) is fine....you can add a bit of milk if you'd like to make the mixture creamier. Cheese and something crunchy on top is a necessity too. Experiment with your favorite type of noodles

    *********************************

There was quite a buzz going around the internet food community about 2 years ago about ';SUBWAY having the best tuna salad..........'; Well, it turns out that they were making it as simple (my credo!!) as you could,

Tuna, salt and pepper and enough mayo to bind it together......

I've come up with a rendition of that, but did a little research and didn't mess up the simplicity of things.......just a little different approach:

1 6 oz can Solid Albacore Tuna in WATER

1 6 oz can Solid Albacore Tuna in OIL

1 6 oz can Chunk Light Tuna in WATER

    Drain the cans of tuna packed in water;

Drain SOME of the oil from the tuna in oil

In a medium mixing bowl, add all the tuna and enough Mayonnaise to bind the tuna together.....Add Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.......Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Remove from fridge and let sit at room temp for 15 minutes.

Now, why does this taste so good??? Albacore tuna in water can be quite dry, even though mayo is added.....Albacore tuna in oil can be just too darned oily. Chunk light is sometimes too fishy, so I came up with the idea through trial and error and found this to be the most acceptable (through many tasters whom I consider to have a sophisticated palet, yes, even for a basic tuna salad recipe...)
add some green bellpepper and cut up pineapple... together with mayonnaise and salt and pepper...

    crunchy but delish!

also, in regular tunasalad (tuna, mayo) you can add chopped tomatoes... it gives something very fresh...

we always put sweet chili sauce, because once i didnt have tomatoes and i figured, the sauce is also red, so why not, and now my whole family does it...
Not too much you can do with tuna, but try these tasty tips:

Grate a peeled apple into the tuna. It takes away the fishy taste without changing other flavors.

Or, grate a carrot into the tuna.

Use good mayo, like Hellman's or Kraft's. Dice onions, celery and a squeeze of fresh lemon. Finish with some cilantro.
i make it with tuna, miracle whip (or mayo), a little bit of mustard, pickles chopped, salt/pepper and a dash of garlic powder.

    mmmmmmmm.

i'm not a fan of eggs/onions in mine, but to each his own.
    My house tuna salad

    Mayo

    Mustard (plain yellow)

    Salt

    Pepper

FINEly chopped celery and dill pickles and a tiny bit of onion chopped too.
I put eggs, green onion, sweet relish, lemon juice, drained crushed pineapple, salt, pepper, and mayo.
