1录 hours 30 min prep

Change to: servings US Metric

420 g tuna in water (drained)

1 onion

3-4 grated garlic cloves

6-10 fresh basil leaves, chopped finely

1 cup of cooked frozen peas and corn

2-3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

dried basil

1 teaspoon dried chili powder

1 tablespoon butter

2 cups of grated tasty cheese (like cheddar)

2 cups milk

1 tablespoon cornflour, mixed with

water

200 g penne pasta

grated cheese

breadcrumbs

Cook pasta until al dente. Drain and put aside.

In a frypan saute onion and garlic until just softened. Remove from heat.

In a pan melt butter and add milk, when warmed slowly add grated cheese until melting. Dont let the mixture boil though. Once cheese is melted through add the cornlour or sifted flour to thicken the sauce. Put aside.

Cook the corn and peas until almost cooked. Remove from heat or microwave and drain.

In a large mixing bowl add the tuna (drained), the corn and peas, the fresh chopped basil, onion and garlic, sweet chilli sauce (approx 4 full tablespoons but add more if required), dried basil and a dash of dried chilli powder. Mix thoroughly.

Add cooked pasta to the mixture and slowly mix through the cheese sauce mixture. I usually taste here to make sure enough sweet chilli has been added.

Pour mixture into a baking dish, top with a very thin layer of grated cheese and then a layer of breadcrumbs on top. Cover with foil.

Bake in oven at 180 degrees for approximately 40 minutes or until cooked in the middle. Remove foil approximately 30 minutes into the cooking so the breadcrumbs brown up.Where can i get a very tasty tuna mornay recipe to cook for the kids?

just rip open a can of tuna and pour on a jar of sauce on it. get at the nearest super market. if they don't the sauce you want use the one they have. i would just mash it up with mayo and add a few spoonfuls of sweet pickle cubes and spread it on that crunch 19 grain bread. that is my answer. go daddy-o!

What is a good, EASY tuna steak recipe?

I have never cooked tuna steak before, but i decided to try it, and now i dont know how to cook it... any EASY help would be great. Ohh and i dont have a grill, so its the stove top or oven.

this is how i cook mine:

2 cloves of garlic (crushed)

1 cup of olive oil

2 chopped sprigs of cilantro

1 tablespoon of cinnamon

1 tsp of ginger

1 tsp of cumin

3/4 cup of any type of vinegar u like

then, after all ingredients for the marinade are blended in very liquid form, take tuna steaks, and place them in a good casserole dish. pour marinade all over the tuna steak, and cover the dish. place in the fridge for at least 12 hrs. (u said u wanted easy, u didnt indicate how long it had to take :-)

once the tuna steaks are marinaded, take them out of the casserole dish, and place them in another casserole dish. bake in the oven for 20 min on 350 degrees.

i usually cook some pasta, rice, or potatoes on the side of this recipe, and use the remaining marinade to flavor the pasta, rice or potatoes. hope you enjoy this! What is a good, EASY tuna steak recipe?
I like to marinate them in a little soy sauce, a little chili garlic sauce and some lemon juice. Then just sear them on high heat.
Teriyaki is a good seasoning for tuna. You can try this simple recipe and omit the carrots if you want (I do, because I don't like carrots, and it still turns out great).

1/2 cup teriyaki sauce

1 1/2 pounds tuna steaks

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 lemon

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 teaspoons sea salt

ground black pepper to taste

1 carrot, grated

Pour the teriyaki sauce into a shallow dish or bowl, and place tuna steaks in the sauce to marinate. Cover, and allow to marinate for about 45 minutes at room temperature. The steaks will cook more evenly if they are not cold.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place tuna steaks in the hot oil, and pour in the teriyaki sauce. Squeeze juice from the lemon over the steaks, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. When the bottom is light brown, flip the steaks, and cook until browned on the other side. The center will still be slightly red. Season with sea salt and pepper.

Place the tuna steaks onto serving plates, and garnish with grated carrots. Serve the pan drippings as a dipping sauce.
The key to great tuna steaks is to sear it and leave it rare in the middle. Coat your steak with a combination of coarse ground peppercorn, kosher salt, celery seed, and garlic. Sear in a hot pan with olive oil, no more than 2 -3 minutes on each side. Serve with a wasabi mayonaise or your favorite dipping sauce. This is also great with white basamati rice and edamame.
Fisrt take aluminum foil and spray it with a little Pam not too much. Then place the Tuna on top of that. Next squeeze fresh lemon juice over the tuna with a pinch of pepper and salt and if you have fresh basil just put it right on top. Next fold the foil up and place on a cookie sheet in the oven at 350 degrees for about 8 to 15 minutes or until cooked the way you like it.
Remember tuna is not a fatty fish so it must be cooked quickly and left almost raw or the fish will turn into a piece of wood. Place 1 tablespoon of butter plus 1 tablespoon of cooking oil to prevent butter from burning. Sprinkle the fish with lemon pepper seasoning found in the spice isle at your local market. Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes per side. The middle should give a little. The other option is to make tuna burgers. Dice or grind the tuna, egg (t bind), add mayo, diced onion, salt and pepper, or lemon pepper seasoning and fry until cooked through.

What is the best tuna salad recipe you have ever had??

    Delicious Tuna Salad

1 can albacore white tuna in water

    1/3 cup diced cucumber

    1/2 teaspoon dill weed

    2 tablespoon real mayo

    2 teaspoons of sour cream

Drain the tuna really well. Then mix everything in a bowl. Chill for at least 45 mins for the flavors to develop. Longer is better. Over night is probably the best.

I eat it on wheat bread. Its the best tuna ever. It may sound gross and thats what i said but then I tried it and it is very tasty!

Please try it.What is the best tuna salad recipe you have ever had??
my own recipe. but my mother has made it like this for years, so it may not be original....we put 2 cans tuna, hellmans mayo, salt, pepper, sweet relish, and 2-3 hard boiled eggs. chill and serve on whole wheat bread! i love this stuff! :oPWhat is the best tuna salad recipe you have ever had??
Mayonaise, sweet pickle relish, chopped celery. Chopped apples and raisins are also good in place of, or in addition to, the celery.
includes: two cans of chicken of the sea tuna, about four eggs(boiled), sliced dill pickles, diced onions, green onions, mustard, and mayonaise
Boil some pasta ( macaroni, or small size pasta), then, once they have turned cold, add tuna, tomato sliced, mozzarella, olive oil, olives, basil, parsley, onions, garlic, pepperoni, apples cut in small pieces, perhaps one or two drops of lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, and there you go!
Cubed seared tuna with diced mango, red pepper flakes, green onion and light mayo. served over mescalin greens. My own recipe if you like it let me know.
The best tuna salad recipe starts with tuna packed in water. Drain it, and add only enough mayonnaise to moisten it enough to spread, about a tablespoon for each 6 ounce can. Put 1/4 teaspoon celery salt, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon black or white pepper in the mayonnaise, stir, and mix with the tuna.

You can add chopped hardcooked egg, chopped mild onion, chopped celery or even chopped pickle (or all of the above) to extend the dish and make it special.

But everyone always loves my tuna salad the best!
Plain and simple is best to me: a dab of real mayo, a little squirt of yellow mustard, a bit of both dill and sweet relishes, and some pepper. I use water-packed tuna and squeeze it pretty dry.
    Linguine Tuna Salad:

    30 min 20 min prep

    10-12 servings

    8 ounces linguine

    1/4 cup lemon juice

    1/4 cup light olive oil

    1/4 cup green onions, chopped

    1 tablespoon sugar

    1 teaspoon italian seasoning

    1 teaspoon seasoning salt

2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, Drained

10 ounces frozen green peas, thawed

    2 medium tomatoes, chopped (firm)

    1. Break linguine lengthwise into thirds and cook according to package directions; drain.

    2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine lemon juice, oil, onions, sugar, Italian Sesoning, and salt, mix well.

    3. Add HOT linguine; toss.

    4. Flake tuna with a fork, then stir tuna and thawed peas into the linguine mixture. Gently toss in chopped tomatoes.

    5. Cover; chill several hours or overnight to blend flavors. Serve cold.

    6. Refrigerate any leftovers.
my opinion is to not eat tuna because it can make you get gas problems and if you continue eating tuna you will then get cat cancer i think that tuna is only for cat and why are human beings eating cat food!!!
Depends on what u like. I like tuna, miracle whip, celery, onion and some sweet pickles. or one can apply a tomatoe to it. It is whatever you like on it.There is no right or wrong for this one.
The best is my Aunt's I will only make it this way now. Tuna, diced celery, diced onions, 1/2 tsp of horseradish, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. The best is to make it about 1 hour before you are going to eat it so all the flavors mix together.
I make it with a can of tuna (of course), salt and pepper, thyme (it takes the fishy taste away), a little garlic powder, some parsley flakes, sweet or dill relish, a squirt of dijion or spicy mustard and some mayo. Other ingredients that can be substitued or added are lawry's seasoning salt, celery salt and diced chives.
The best is made with Starkist tuna packed in oil.

Drain two 6 ounce cans of tuna and flake into a bowl. Add as much Hellmann's mayonnaise as you wish. Thinly slice the green tops of 3 scallions; add to the tuna and stir well to incorporate. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.

Serve tuna stuffed into a tomato or on your favorite bread with a lettuce leaf or mound on toast, top with shredded cheese and broil for a great tuna melt.

The key to this recipe is the overnight refrigeration.

tuna, mayo, rice, finely chopped onions (if you have scallions is better), finely chopped tomatoes (if you have cherry tomatoes just cut them in half and use it to decorate the appetizer).

Cook the rice. Mix it with all the other ingredients. Cover a pan with a non stick paper (aluminum or the transparent one) and put what you've just mixed there. Pop it in the fridge and when it's cold cut it in squares

Anyone have a tuna steak recipe so that I can cook and freeze it?

I have enough tuna to feed eight people, but I'm not having people over.

Anyone have a recipe that uses tuna steak, and that can be refrigerated or frozen without the tuna become hard, tough, and flavorless?

Thanks.Anyone have a tuna steak recipe so that I can cook and freeze it?
i don't recommend cooking it before you freeze it. why not freeze it first then defrost it when you need it? that' what i do, i buy packs of four and freeze what i dont use and defrost as necessary. as for a recipe, if you cook it in lemonjuice and a dash of mild chilli powder on each side the flavours are massive. just serve on some chunky sweet potato chips or oven wedges and salad with homemade vinegarette!!

    hope this helps

pbxAnyone have a tuna steak recipe so that I can cook and freeze it?
You're better off freezing the steaks raw than cooking and freezing them. They'll get even more tough and have less flavor after they're cooked and frozen.
