I mix a 6 oz can with about a couple of heapings tablespoons of mayonnaise, a sprinkle or two of garlic salt, 2 boiled eggs(chopped), a teaspoon of either sweet or dill relish and a dash or two of worcestershire sauce, and sometimes a sprinkle of celery seed. Let refrigerate for a least an hour.
Tuna, mayo, chopped celery, onion and olives.
The kicker is celery seeds.
Mix 'em all up and enjoy.

I like Nicoise tuna salad. Line a dish with lettuce leaves. Place drained tuna fish in the center and surround the tuna with hard boiled egg cut in quarters, Blanched string beans, cooked, and cooled new potatoes cut in cubes, thinly sliced onion, sweet gherkins, black olives, and quartered tomatoes. Drizzle each serving with whatever dressing each person likes, or drizzle entire platter with a vinagrette.

Tuna Salad, Waldorf Style

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
3 cans (7oz ea) tuna fish -- solid
1 cup Cucumber; unpeeled -- cubed
2 cups Red apples; unpeeled -- cubed
1/2 cup Walnut meats -- coarsely chop
1 tablespoon Oil
1 tablespoon Tarragon vinegar
Mayonnaise
6 large -8 lg. Gherkins*
1 Red apple
Lemon juice
Drain tuna. Flake and combine with cucumbers, cubed apples and walnuts. Blend
oil with vinegar and enough mayonnaise for a not too thick dressing. Pour over
salad ingredients and toss lightly. If desired, make a garnish by cutting
gherkins lengthwise into slices, leaving sliced fastened at the base. Spread
out like a fan. Cut a quarter of an apple into thin wedges and dip in lemon
juice. Place wedges lengthwise between gherkins slices. Shrimp Salad Waldorf
Style equally delicious. Use canned or quick-frozen deveined shrimp, chopped.
Yield 6-8 servings.
*Gherkins is a small prickly fruit that used for pickling or somewhat like a
baby cucumber.
AND YOU MUST TRY THIS IT IS TO DIE FOR
Waldorf Salad
3 or 4 apples, unpeeled, cut from the core, and chopped into bite size pieces (about 3 cups)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/3 cup raisins
2/3 cup chopped celery
1/3 cup walnuts (optional)
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon sugar
Don't bother peeling the apples unless their skins are really unattractive. Cut up 3 or 4 of them, until you get about 2-1/2 or 3 cups of chopped apples. Sprinkle the lemon juice over the apples. The acid in the lemon juice prevents the apples from turning brown. The raisins will taste best if you plump them first. Do this by measuring them into a cereal bowl and adding enough warm tap water to cover them completely. Allow them to sit for a few minutes, absorbing the water, and softening up. Drain them very well when you need them. I actually squeeze them to make sure they are very dry. Chop up the celery, it should take about 2 stalks or so. I add black walnuts because I get them for free, but you can use regular walnuts or omit them completely if you don't have any handy. Mix everything together in a medium sized bowl with the mayonnaise and sugar, coating all of the ingredients with the mayonnaise. It is now ready to serve, or you can chill it overnight and serve it tomorrow instead. This is so crunchy and chewy, it is perfect contrast for a meal which is soft, or easy to chew. This recipe serves 6.
one without tuna is the best
Here's my version that I made up a few years ago. I make this every so often.
Ingredients:
Tuna
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Celery, diced
Black olives, chopped
Dill pickly, chopped very fine
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Kosher salt
Ground black pepper
Cayenne pepper
Don't have specific measurement amounts as I just kind of do it by feel and sight. Add tuna to a bowl big enough for mixing, add mayonnaise, mustard (regular or dijon), with a little more mayo than mustard. Add diced celery, chopped black olives, some chopped (very small) dill pickle, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper and a little cayenne pepper. Just kind of get a feel for it. Sample it. You might want to add a little more of the above ingredients to make it suit your tastes. I also look for the right amount of colors. Refrigerate for at least an hour, preferably overnight. Enjoy in a sandwich or stuff a tomato with it for a light, quick meal with crackers (Wheatables, 7 grain are good). Or put it on top of your green salad.
Mix lime juice with the tuna, red onion, and cilantro... sounds gross, but is GREAT!! You could put in on top of a salad.
tuna ,mayo, a little must, boiled eggs ,bread and butter pickles, a little jalopes peppers and mix put on bread top with tomato and onion and lettuce
hell ye add some chopped up tomato's and lettuce and it will be hella good also let some of that water stay in the tuna to make the mayo watery but its hella good
