Base1 & 2/3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup margarine or butter, chilled, cut

5 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine 1 & 2/3 cups of flour and 1/2 cup powdered sugar, mix together. Once blended, use a fork to cut in margarine until the base ingredients look like crumbs.
2. Press base mixture in the bottom of an ungreased 13x9 inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 14 - 17 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
3. In medium bowl, combine all filling ingredients except lemon juice and lemon peel; blend with a wire wisk. Once mixed, add lemon juice and lemon peel and stir. Pour filling over the cooked base. Bake an additional 18 - 25 minutes or until the center is set. Cool completely. If desired, sprinkle powdered sugar on the top. Enjoy.
